I am with you Buck... although I am not at all ashamed of it, Emily was a very planned (and waited for baby) but Matt and I did not manage to get married until I was 8 months along (long story that mostly has to do with me being a chicken) Aw... what the heck I will get badgered to death about it now anyway...

GG, you looked beautiful. There is just something about a woman that is in love and carrying her beloved's child. It's the glow.

Wonderful pictures... thank you for sharing! I don't have not one picture believe it or not and here is why...

We were married by proxy (my granfather's idea. He said people did it all the time in WWII), over the phone. Hubby was in Germany(Army) and I was in Arizona. lol Anyway my dad and mom(divorced) were both there as well as my FIL so it wasn't as horrible as it sounds. lol My grandfather passed away just a few weeks later so I stayed stateside with my grandmother for six months until she was settled with mom.

I was 17 at the time and he was 20. We were high school sweethearts and yes, we had a daughter. It's funny to look back on those days four daughters later and we just (Aug 9th) celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. :18

We keep saying we are going to renew our vows but it seems life always manages to get in the way so until we manage to do so, I won't have any wedding pictures.

Congrats on keeping it together for 15 years!

Hey Cali, you could have a Victorian/Cowboy wedding and all your guest (read Alley Cats) could be dressed in the appropriate attire. :)

PMS I so Agree, my first wedding at age 19 was huge... I mean HUGE and formal and if I had had the sense God gave rock should have never taken place.

Hubbie and I had a private ceramony (Mom I love you and I am really sorry...but will get over it...I hope...someday... :re ) and all these 10 years later we are very very happy. I might even manage a honeymoon trip one of these days.

Save the money you would spend on a big wedding and put a down payment on a house!! Ho on a fun trip to someplace you have always wanted to go...Big weddings are stressful and highly overrated.(just me personal 2 cents)

A month or so ago, I came across a strip of negatives. They were from our lost wedding photos. today we finally remembered to take them with us to Wally's. Crossed our fingers and asked to see if they would still print. here's the result, Sept. 24, 1976.........:faint

Cool photo Buck! Styles sure have changed.

I'll have to see if I can scan some of mine. I don't think anyone would recognize me. Lizzie is right about the "skinny kid" thing. I weighed 30 pounds less then. :faint

March 27 1965 - the marriage was ill-fated, but it was a lovely day out ! My brother gave me away as our dad had died in 1962. The 1st picture is me & my brother about to go into the church (it was a very windy day). The 2nd picture is the usual group photo - from the left:- my uncle Jack Conyers, my brother Rob, bridesmaid my cousin Kathleen Conyers, my mum-in-law Edie Brooks, the groom Roy Brooks, me, my mum Hilda Kay, my aunt Ruby Conyers (dad's sister), dad-in-law Sidney Brooks, bridesmaid & best friend Margaret Hole, brother-in-law George Brooks. Of all those people, there's only me, Roy & the 2 bridesmaids left now.

How fun to see everyone's wedding photos!:tban

I can't recall if I posted this one, and yes those are Indians in the background. We were married at a replica 1870s fort my friends built in Montana.

As I walked through the line of Union soldiers in their sword archway, at the end of the ceremony, the last soldier whacked me with his sword and said "Welcome to the cavalry Mrs. Harris." It was like that John Wayne movie except the part where I whirled around and was ready to strike the soldier that had rendered the blow to my backside (with a little too much gusto I might add).:lool

I presided at a wedding once, for a friend; she was a sweet girl, nice as could be, healthy built farm girl -- by "Healthy Built" I mean not only could she do full credit to a dress, she could also smile sweetly, seize a fence post and fetch it up out of the ground and make it look easy.
She was a bouncer, matter of fact, and she was known as someone you didn't want to cross.
She too walked out with her husband through the Arch of Swords; she knew that Tail End Charlie was going to whack her on the backside with the flat of his blade ...
I saw history made that happy evening.
It's the first time anyone ever swatted her fanny and lived to tell the tale!

This is so much fun, seeing everyone on their big day. Black Rose, that dress takes my breath away, it's one of the most gorgeous gowns I think I've ever seen, and red for a wedding dress?! I LOVE it! I could definitely see my daughter doing that.

:ty all for the compliments on my wedding dress. It was the first dress I tried on and it was just perfect. I felt like a queen all day.

Nelli blue: no, I did not make my weddingdress. I choose not to, because I didn't want the stress of finishing it in time. And I didn't wanted to run the risk of not being satisfied with it. I am a perfectionist and I seem never to be completely satisfied with my work. So for this special day I decided to just buy a dress. Actually it was the first dress I bought in many many years :lool, everything else I just make myself.

Here's what Lightning Will and I were doing exactly 41 years ago today...

39193

And here we are, Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson. That's my baby brother to the far left (he's now 6'6" and a grandfather), Bill's brother to my right (his first grand child is due this month), my sister to Bill's left (she's begging to be a grandmother at the moment), and that pretty woman on the far right of the picture, with long pretty dark hair...that's "Diamond Terri Annie" on our Alley Forum and her hubby behind her "Crack Shot Paul"!

39190

And here's Lightning Will searching for my garter. This is after he took my entire skirt and put it over his head!!! ...yeah, like I was really embarassed.

Oh my God, what I would give to have that tiny waist back again!!! That's without a corset or any boning!!!
