Well, I’ve got to set you straight. My hubbie is the Big Goober. He loves to wear overalls. Last year, I won’t explain why (long story), a bunch of us dressed up in overalls and called ourselves the Goober Goat Herders. We all had badges that said Number 1. I blackened a few teeth and wore pig tails. Everyone looked like a hick.

Did you see Badlands Bud on the cover of the Chronicle after he won EOT? Well, he was wearing his Goober clothes.

That month California Rangers and Murieta Posse matches fell on the same weekend (second Saturday and third Sunday). I sent emails far and wide telling folks to come to one, the other, or both wearing overalls to honor our boy, Badlands Bud. (Everyone who knows him loves him and considers him their boy.) Guess what, we had one of our biggest matches ever at California Rangers and lots of folks bought overalls for the occasion.

If you want to have an interesting theme match, try a Goober Day. Folks can dress like hillbillies. ( I can just see Fannie as Daisy May.) It was a hoot.
