Fleur, the Riviera is Union and the only people allowed to unload and load vendors are the Riviera staff. You should not have any trouble getting things unloaded...unless you try to get others to unload stuff. The Riviera will let you know that is NOT acceptable and they will do it in no uncertain terms.

Woodstock and i unloaded last year they did not question us.. i know the union has their rules I was under the impression employees/owners vendors etc. could do it.. was i wrong .. I will check my packet.... My real issue is guarding my vehicle as i unload i will have a cart as i am alone... they charge per trip. As i recall. hmm I need to see.

I have seen and heard some pretty ugly arguments between the Riviera staff and vendors, so beware.

I was talking to a friend who goes to Vegas regularly ... she saw a vender escorted away from one of the hotels due to unloading own van .... guess it was kinda ugly.
Also, bellboys are generally paid a dollar a suitcase/bag ... don't know about vender fees though ....

No wonder the bellboys love to see me coming!!! They make more than $1/bag from me, but I figure they earn it!!! They see me coming and the rookies get pushed out of the way!:rofl:rofl

Yep the union will rip you a new one if you are unloading your own stuff. The first convention Rocky and I had to pay big bucks to get the barber chair moved in for haircuts. They let us know right quick that only THEY could unload and load,.:tap:tap As for the bell hops I know they love convention because like Fannie most of us ladies come with LOTS of baggage.:rofl:rofl:rofl

Sad to think that they don't let you unload your own gear. I have feelings about unions both ways. My Dad was a loyal union man....his union was a very DIS-loyal union. AND he was a Teamster! :tap

Fleur, YOU CAN UNLOAD your own Stuff. YOU just can't use the UNION DOCK. Don't fret. THE BGA will be there, and I doubt that there is anyone in Las Vegas who can prevent you from unloading your own vehicle. I do it for the gun shows at the Riv and Convention for HTCF all the time.
We will carry it in from the public entrance like always and if there is enough of us, it can be done in one or two trips.
There will be no problem!:tap
Email me with your schedule, as I will be there for some other deliveries.:lool

Kid is correct, as long as you dont use their dock, they cant complain. Last year we loaded in from the side doors just to find out that the union was loading in for no charge last year(we had them load us out) The issue we have is the lack of communication, if we would have known that they were loading in for free we would have taken advantage of it but no one seems to knows what is happening from year to year.....
There have been some ugly confrontation between the union and the vendors, the union seems to think that we are all big corporations that make a bazillion dollars at these shows...ha ha ha
good luck, see you all there
