Does anyone know which one is getting the most business? I have a bunch of brass and lead to post, but don't know which one to use.

GunBroker is the largest of the auction sites. GunsAmerica is also quite large. I have bought things with no problem from all three.

In a continuing effort to get Cocky's stuff organized in his shop (read out of my garage), I'm going through, putting like kinds together and then selling what we don't shoot. I've already gotten rid of all for the .50AE, but there's a ton of very obscure calibers that I didn't even know existed that need to find new homes or go to the dump.
I haven't really started on all the projectiles yet, but most of the brass is sorted and labeled. Boy was that a job. I found 38 brass in 5 different places and now that they're all together we have 4 coffin sized bins of hulls. Talk about a pack rat who doesn't know what he has.
What are you looking for and I'll let you know if I have it.

We have a bunch of nickel 38 special that's used, probably still have 38 special brass out there too. I sold a bunch of that on eBay PB (preban). We don't have any 44-40. The 38-55 we're keeping in the hopes of finding a lever action rifle at a reasonable price (hint, hint).

Well I found some 38-55, but I have to mortgage my first male born, and since I don't have one, and aint going to have one it might be a long wait...BUT ooooohhhh were they pretty!
Now let me know what ya want for them 38 spcl. cases assuming they ain't in to bad of condition..I'll ask the 38 shooter in the house! :rofl

Miz Iona, before you take any brass to the dump, look for a scrap metal buyer in your area, last I heard scrap brass was going for about $2.75 a pound.

Howdy Miz Iona!
Got any .35 Remington brass in that pile??
Could also use loading dies, mould, lead...
I just picked up a Marlin in .35 Remington and thought to try it in some non-cas buffalo matches a local non-cas club holds here. (They say it's difficult to detect hits/misses from a .30-30 at 200 yards. ;) )
So far I've been using my regular cas 20" Marlin in .45 Colt, but because it's my cas gun I don't want to put target sights on it. Now if I could find a 'good' deal on a 24" barrelled .45 Colt ..or .45-70 ..or .38-55 ..etc. ;) :) :)

I think I have a good Load for 35 rem. too! Lets see, Hodgdon H4895, 35 grains, with a Beartooth 180 gr. FBPP.
3 shot grp. measured .665 " by .425" @ 100 yrds. Open sights from Marlin 336 Deluxe Texan.

Now that's kewl! Oughta send that to "The Frugal Outdoorsman" at his site. He posted a story of work he did to get groups like that from a .30-30.
However.. The place I'm shooting requires lead bullets and 1400fps or less.

I have targets and work-up data for every caliber and every gun I have owned. Here is the Targets for the work up for the 35 Rem. as stated. (Yes I'm that anal):lool

I went out and looked and couldn't find any 35 rem. I'll keep looking, they might be hiding in plain sight.
The salvage yard out here pays about 1/2 what the going rate is and that makes it not even worth the gas to get over there. I've been putting unwanted stuff in a bin and we'll see if it adds up to enough to make it worth hauling to Vegas. The last time my husband called them about hauling over some scrap metal, it was $6 per ton and you had to have it cut in 6" pieces. That went to the dump instead.

Sounds like your scrap yard is run by idiots.:tap Ours all happily pay you to take clean metal off your hands. (we scrap aluminum windows from time to time.)

MOY I couldn't agree more. They think because they're the only game in town we'll play. The dump is 2 miles away and they're 10, with the price of fuel, I'll go to the dump.:lool:lool

Should have read all the post before mine went up.
Tell them you have yellow brass!! Not scrap metal!! Big difference. If they are still offering nuttin go to another yard as that one is ripping you off. I ran a savlage yard for 6 yrs.
