Good morning Ladies...I have a little offer to make.
As you know I am trying to get the web site in working order and I need most of all PHOTOS...sample type, photos of work that I am able to do. I have been giving this some thought and I think this is might work out nicely for me and be fun for some ladies too.
I need:
3 chemise
2 bloomers
Petticoats at least 4- possibly more
6 corsets ( yes six...read on... these are a STEAL!)
1 grand bustle
1 eyelet lace bustle ( this will be a limited item, supplies tend to become un- available)
Four dresses Early- Natural form - late -1890's
There might be more as I think on this...(riding?- VBS? Can can? saloon?- you get the idea!)

Here's the deal. I could do all these in my size, but firstly I would get sick of looking at myself, and secondly I am a small rather flat, ahem, person lacking much in the way of curve, that being the case I would really like to show my sewing on a varity of shapes. Sooooo if you are intrested... I am going to sew each of the above items for cost (read : the price of matierals and shipping...period) This allows me to make some nice samples for the site without going into debt making things for me that I just don't need at the moment (6 corsets?? NOT!) and it is an opportunity for some ladies who might need some things to have something custom made for a great price. There are a few requirments, I need to choose the style of item I make for you (this will be basied on your measurments and what I think would best fit) For the dresses I will be choosing all the fabric and and style, again this will be based on what I think would best suit you and the particular period (early late ect...) I will be taking photos of these garments on dummies before I mail them off to the owners,they will go on the site, I would like to list your alias as owner, I would REALLY like a photo of the owners in these items BUT I wont pout too mcuh if you dont want to do that.( for junior ladies I can see parents not wanting your face on the internet ect and I wholly approve of safety)..There will be fitting mocks for the corsets, so there will be a bit of back and forth mail (my expence) There will be fitting mock with instructions of what to look for, for the bodices. There will be Email!! with the ladies who are brave enough to work with me so we can make choices about this or that (like your favorite colors and styles...it is your dress after all, I just want to buy the supplies so I know there is enough and that things match properly ect)
With the ladies choosing the dresses. You are buying the supplies BUT "hello!" we all have budgets, I will get approval of trim ect, amounts to you and all will be talked about and ok'ed before I buy in your name, you will get all the reciepts. Lets see I think we will start with a 100$ cost minimum (this is for the dresses)though because I am planing to work in silk as well as cotton if the dress comes in under 100$ ,and a cotton one just might, I will keep you posted and refund the difference of corse!
I will start these in Jan (I have a few works in progress to finish for some ladies at present) These will not crimp any orders that are comming up so if you have something we have talked about no worries I have not forgotten, these will be done on an as dibs are called or is needed basis ( if you have a date you would like a dress by say, I will manage it if at all possible)

Ummm...ok I think that is everything...This is an experiment that I hope can become a yearly project (because I think it will be a hoot!!) a way to get to know some new faces (I hope) and a way to freshen up the site once ayear with what's new and all.

Lady Lesalle- who is a constant pain- I mean a dear friend is not eligible...Sorry brat! Why you ask? because she gets to take advantage of my good nature most of the time as it is!!

All others- you are very welcome to throw your hats in, Gents you may call dibs for your lady, just so long as she is willing to give all the required measurments and such like...I'm not sure a "surprise" garment would be possible, but if you have the gumption to try I am willing to hear your master plan!

So you pay final shipping to you ( I will pay the shipping for the mock ups) and the cost of matierals only (you get reciepts!)
Oh one more word on the corsets they will be three black, three white, and basic in the materials offered ( plain coutil, satin coutil and brocade coutil) This may change as ladies show intrest have questions ect.

I forgot to mention....I will soon be offering handpainted porcelain brooches from an award winning rose painter Valerie Baldwin she has asked me to submit a few design ideas I would like for a first view limited numbered run. I can not even tell you how beautiful her work is ( I will try to get a digital photo of something to show you soon!) I have something in mind and I am going to give one brooch to each lady who joins me in this mad adventure, although I will be putting a great deal of time into this it remains that you will be doing me a great service and this will be my little thankyou, these broochs will be signed by Valerie and numbered and only for Ladies who participate in the Folly! Soooooo just a little added something if your on the fence (I know I am evil!)

Kay I have some great sample photos of that one (you dont want to know how many I have made!) But I do need a sample of the 101 done in an eyelet lace version (cotton of corse!) If you would like to call dibs on that one... I have been trying to estimate the yardage of eyelet for it...what I have is beautiful and is 80 cents a yard but its flat so ruffled is going to run into some serious yardage...which will make the material costs for this one so much more than the usual bustle. I am thinking it going to run something like 30 yards just in ruffles, if you think you still are intrested in it Hollar and I will do the math on the exact cost.:ty for asking !!

There was this one oriental print brocade on Ebay that I tried to get Alli to buy, it was to die for. The seller of that fabric isn't listing anything else until January, but it was so gorgeous!!! It was the same color as the fabric I linked to. GG, I wasn't necessarily suggesting satan, I mean satin, it was the color and outrageous print that I love so much!!!

Ok and just so we are all on the same page I am starting these the first week of January...this will be about a 16 week project (count up all that stuff!!) The ladies who had corset request in the new year are all here I believe so that actually works out well.

If you have a corset...I would like to order all the fabric and busks laces and grommets at the same time to save us all shipping. I will send out quick pms to you and we can co-ordinate this.

the VBS and can can will be last which will put them around April...Now anybody that needed anything by a certain date let me know, I think the only mention so far has been the bust out by which everything will be done.

Thank you ladies...People always ask where I find the time, but honestly I dont feel like it takes that much out of a normal day...Im not sure how that is... I dont watch TV very often ( Like 1 or 2 shows a week tops) an occasional movie...maybe thats it. Emily works well and Ethan's is only doing Kindergarten work so nap time and evenings are mostly mine....I think the hardest thing is keeping motivated through a project, I love the start and the construction... I start getting bad at the finish work and hand work at the very end...but I have developed a great support (read kick in the pants team) to keep me going! Thanks Ruff and LL....they are both always there to encourage me...Oh and Lizzie too! She is a peach, always ready to hand out a long distance "slap" when I need one!

We dont always have a hobby/sport we love in our lives...I love this game and my family supports me because they see how happy it makes me...and they all love it too!!

Good morning Ladies...I have a little offer to make.
As you know I am trying to get the web site in working order and I need most of all PHOTOS...sample type, photos of work that I am able to do. I have been giving this some thought and I think this is might work out nicely for me and be fun for some ladies too.
I need:
3 chemise
2 bloomers
Petticoats at least 4- possibly more
6 corsets ( yes six...read on... these are a STEAL!)
1 grand bustle
1 eyelet lace bustle ( this will be a limited item, supplies tend to become un- available)
Four dresses Early- Natural form - late -1890's
There might be more as I think on this...(riding?- VBS? Can can? saloon?- you get the idea!)

Here's the deal. I could do all these in my size, but firstly I would get sick of looking at myself, and secondly I am a small rather flat, ahem, person lacking much in the way of curve, that being the case I would really like to show my sewing on a varity of shapes. Sooooo if you are intrested... I am going to sew each of the above items for cost (read : the price of matierals and shipping...period) This allows me to make some nice samples for the site without going into debt making things for me that I just don't need at the moment (6 corsets?? NOT!) and it is an opportunity for some ladies who might need some things to have something custom made for a great price. There are a few requirments, I need to choose the style of item I make for you (this will be basied on your measurments and what I think would best fit) For the dresses I will be choosing all the fabric and and style, again this will be based on what I think would best suit you and the particular period (early late ect...) I will be taking photos of these garments on dummies before I mail them off to the owners,they will go on the site, I would like to list your alias as owner, I would REALLY like a photo of the owners in these items BUT I wont pout too mcuh if you dont want to do that.( for junior ladies I can see parents not wanting your face on the internet ect and I wholly approve of safety)..There will be fitting mocks for the corsets, so there will be a bit of back and forth mail (my expence) There will be fitting mock with instructions of what to look for, for the bodices. There will be Email!! with the ladies who are brave enough to work with me so we can make choices about this or that (like your favorite colors and styles...it is your dress after all, I just want to buy the supplies so I know there is enough and that things match properly ect)
With the ladies choosing the dresses. You are buying the supplies BUT "hello!" we all have budgets, I will get approval of trim ect, amounts to you and all will be talked about and ok'ed before I buy in your name, you will get all the reciepts. Lets see I think we will start with a 100$ cost minimum (this is for the dresses)though because I am planing to work in silk as well as cotton if the dress comes in under 100$ ,and a cotton one just might, I will keep you posted and refund the difference of corse!
I will start these in Jan (I have a few works in progress to finish for some ladies at present) These will not crimp any orders that are comming up so if you have something we have talked about no worries I have not forgotten, these will be done on an as dibs are called or is needed basis ( if you have a date you would like a dress by say, I will manage it if at all possible)

Ummm...ok I think that is everything...This is an experiment that I hope can become a yearly project (because I think it will be a hoot!!) a way to get to know some new faces (I hope) and a way to freshen up the site once ayear with what's new and all.

Lady Lesalle- who is a constant pain- I mean a dear friend is not eligible...Sorry brat! Why you ask? because she gets to take advantage of my good nature most of the time as it is!!

All others- you are very welcome to throw your hats in, Gents you may call dibs for your lady, just so long as she is willing to give all the required measurments and such like...I'm not sure a "surprise" garment would be possible, but if you have the gumption to try I am willing to hear your master plan!

So you pay final shipping to you ( I will pay the shipping for the mock ups) and the cost of matierals only (you get reciepts!)
Oh one more word on the corsets they will be three black, three white, and basic in the materials offered ( plain coutil, satin coutil and brocade coutil) This may change as ladies show intrest have questions ect.

I forgot to mention....I will soon be offering handpainted porcelain brooches from an award winning rose painter Valerie Baldwin she has asked me to submit a few design ideas I would like for a first view limited numbered run. I can not even tell you how beautiful her work is ( I will try to get a digital photo of something to show you soon!) I have something in mind and I am going to give one brooch to each lady who joins me in this mad adventure, although I will be putting a great deal of time into this it remains that you will be doing me a great service and this will be my little thankyou, these broochs will be signed by Valerie and numbered and only for Ladies who participate in the Folly! Soooooo just a little added something if your on the fence (I know I am evil!)

Hi everyone!

First I want to say that I think of y'all everyday and although I have not been on the Alley in quite awhile due to personal reasons, I do miss and love my friends here on the Alley. I want to :ty for the emails and private messages since my absence.

The reason I wanted to bump this post up is because I want everyone to know that the outfit that is being auctioned, with the proceeds going to our troops, is from both Gypsy and myself. Do y'all remember how excited we all were to get in on this amazing deal that Gypsy made to those of us who were lucky enough to sign on and get in when she offered it? I know there are many of you that joined after the offer was made and may not know what it was all about.

Gypsy's contribution to this cause is all the hard work, creative abilities, shopping for the materials and trims, and everything else that goes along with making one of her creations....and that is just what they are! I have decided to donate my outfit to help raise money for our service men and women, through the Belle's, as I cannot think of a better place that it could go!

It is my wish that whomever wins this auction will wear the outfit with the same pride and joy that I would have loved to and to post the pictures on her web site and on the Alley. I think this would be a good place for pictures of all the "folly outfits" to be posted in one place. :beg and :ty
