I know someone out there knows how to make those feathery Saloon Girl hairpieces. I need to learn, have to make three, maybe four of them in a couple of months. Come on ladies, I need to hear from you.
Thanks,

Here's another bump up to the top for this thread. Now mind you, I want a nice saloon girl feathered piece, not to look like a chicken is sitting on my head.

Fleur -- How did you make the black one in your avatar???
I have a teensy feather of maybe 3 or 4 inches (I have such fine hair, anything longer will plumment into my soup) so there must be a simple way to create both types. :help
Have you downloaded your photos yet??

Maybe this will help a little. The gold/black saloon girl hairpiece is built up on a clear comb about 4" long with 2" teeth. There are some flowers with leaves, 4 feathers 12" long each, and black tulle tied into a bow about 6" diameter with 4 loose ends. Everything is laid onto the head of the comb and hot glued into place.

Another hairpiece. Also hot glued.

This one is done differently. The tulle is woven through the comb teeth and then the flowers and feathers are sewn onto the teeth by just going around the head of the comb.

BY,
Those are gorgeous. However, if Kica's hair is as fine as mine is, a comb would just slide out. When I wear a hat, I have to make some pin curls on the top of my head to stick the hatpin through or the hat just falls off.
I've had some "facinators" and the ones that stayed on the best were on a barette or on a clippy.

Oh BY, I love the style of the first one, and the feathers in the last one. That gold is so pretty. I need three of them in that colour, about 12 inches long each. LOL Also, thanks for the pm, will reply soon.

OK, no chickens. How do you feel about ducks?

Laz, for me, no duck either. But, we can ask your lovely bride, Lorelei, if she wants a duck on her head. What do you think she'll say???? And you better duck when she says it too. LOL:gg

You're welcome Nellie Blue! Those were Tornado Alli's and I found them as I was sorting through some boxes. She would also take headbands and glue flowers onto them. I've learned so much just looking through her costumes so I'm glad to share!

Hello,
To those of you with fine hair, I found a solution at the mall. They had hair pieces with combs. The comb had a heavy round rubber band thingy around it at the top of the teeth. It helps to stabalize the comb.
Hope this is helpful.
