Actually, I've just had another look at the dress, & I think the colours are

It's the way the light catches it, but even so, I think the black in the hat, & the gold stripes, would tone beautifully with the black velvet & gold stripes of the dress. :bow It's a stunning creation, as are all your hats that I looked at today on your website. You are a true artist :bow

:sewing Hi, LF. I can't understand why this stunning hat didn't sell. If I'd had somewhere I could wear it, I would certainly have placed a bid. It would look out of place with my 1940's/50's outfits, otherwise I would have had it. I absolutely love it ! :sewing

I HAVE SOME AMAZING 40's /50s hats i have bought over the years!!
The most expensive was a PERFECT TILT HAT in black velvet and chantilly lace
I still cannot find a flaw!
I have a velvet lampshade hat... and others.

EVERY hat i own is for sale :rofl seriously ...
I feel like the mad hatter lol AND I LIKE IT!
