:007 evilb: :blast :tban :gf :ban And it was AWESOME! Its the first time I've gone since I was little(er). Charliej took me down to an indoor range and I'm still on cloud nine! I can see why the sport is addictive. Can't wait to go again and try more guns!

Yeah, that would be fantastic! I was a bit intimidated by the whole hand gun thing since I've never really had much experience in that arena, and while I can handle the kick of a shot gun, I was nervous about all that power just in my hands. But I had loads of fun! I shot a 4" and 6" 357 revolver with 38 bullets and 357 mag bullets, a 44 mag (that one was the scariest at first and boy were my hands sore) and a 38. What does everone shoot at the matches?

I shoot .38 special, but I know a lot of ladies that shoot the little Ruger .32's. They don't make them anymore, but you can still buy them.

Wait 'til someone puts a cap'n'ball revolver in your hands..........
.....lifts the FFFFUNNNNN factor several notches too ;) :D:D:D

........... and remember, we use "target loads" which are much reduced from original manufactured specifications.

I shoot with a pair of replica Colt 1851 Navy's (.36 cal.) , or a pair of Ruger Vaquero's in .45Colt. along with a replica Winchester 1873 rifle in .45Colt and a Rossi "Overland" 12gauge double barrelled hammered shotgun :)
.......(well, you did ask)

I shot 38's for the first nine years and then last year switched to 32's. I wanted to shoot duelist and the 38' were too big for my hands. ALL Rugers.

Hi Goldie,

I'm so happy for you. Whoo hoo now you can be hooked too!

I shoot 38s or 357 now. I may change to 45, it's a lighter gun and Jess can make mouse pharts for it too.

I was a little nervous around all of the guns at first. Just loading the pistol seemed scary. Jess took me to the indoor range six times to shoot pistol. After that, I wasn't a good shot but felt comfortable with the pistols. Then, we practiced the rifle and SG at an outdoor range about four times. I still wasn't a good shot; but, Jess thought I would be okay at a match.

The problem is that I am a very nervous person. It was a long time before I calmed down enough to hit most of the targets. My first match, I missed 44 shots on five stages. I haven't met anyone who can top that for lousy shooting. :18

Now that you've heard my history and confession, don't worry about hitting. Just be safe. That is all the rest of the folks care about.

Happy Trails,

Allie Mo

Allie Mo, Susie got a certificate at her first annual match for the most rounds down range without hitting anything! I'll bet she had more than 44 misses...........Buck:18 :re
