Help finding fabric!!!!

OK you sleuths out there. I am looking for a royal purple and black stripped cotton farbic for a polonaise. Or maybe a purple/black plaid or small check. I found a purple/black/orange plaid but it is really Halloweenie. Any help would be appreciated. I found this really cool hat and now I need a dress to match. (My husband thinks it is the ugliest hat he has every seen:rofl :rofl )

I looked at my sources... The closest i could get was slinky on ebay?
Maybe you could get a black and white stripe cotton and dye in the purple?

Jessie are you looking for something like this?... This is in my fabric stash..sorry had it for ages, never made anything with it just yet...But it gives people an idea if it is similar to what you want.

Funny thing is i didnt realise i had all this stripe fabric. I could make lots of stripe dresses for EOT next year.

Hi Jessie,

After my misadventure with that silk :18 I just bought, I'm not sure I would recommend buying fabric on eBay.

I will keep my eyes open when I go to buy notions (I have sufficient fabric now to keep me busy for a long while). However, when I was looking for stripes, I didn't see a large selection.

Have you tried Hancock (El Camino or Hazel) or Beverly's (Fair Oaks Blvd.)? BTW, there is a nice antique store next to Beverly's. The last time I went, I bought three hats to decorate for CAS and a pair of pristine white gloves that were big enough for me.

Alli- I have bought alot of fabric off ebay and really haven't had a problem, at leaset not yet. I will go to Hancocks next week when we get back from the houseboat. Hope you guys have fun on Sat.
