We had a really great match this weekend. Our club donated toys to the Hickory police dept and our chuckwagon gang fixed a Thanksgiving meal for everyone there. I attempted the dark side with help from J.Mark Flint (thanks again for the rifle and ammo!!). Hope to see you all here at our club for the Bust Out!!
Enjoy the pics. Many more are posted at: GPC Nov.'05 (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/livermushbuck/album?.dir=e8ce&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos)

LMB,
I think you make a mighty fine Indian. Ooops, my daughters corrected me a native american. Sorry about that! They also notice all the toys and thought that was wonderful of you guys to help Santa.

Our last shoot was a charity shoot too, LMB. Our Nov. shoots are always a charity. This year I believe it went to Tuscarawas Co. Toys for Tots. The Mayor of Barnhill was at the shoot with his wife, and went around meeting a bunch of us. Not sure how much they got, but he was pretty appreciative. Also got some press coverage from one of the local papers there..............Buck:cgun :bow

Way to go Buck~ Our fearless leaders HT and Ripshin do this one every year also. HT is on the dept. that we help out. They are great for helping out he community here. We even got to have 2 of his co-workers shoot a couple stages at the match. (for their first stage, black powder loads were strapped on ;) ) It was great, they seemed to love it!

Love what you've done with your Marlin-saves a lot of time when you don't have to shoot it at all, huh? Saves ammo too! Did you clean my rifle a single bit . . .nooooooo!!! just shoot up my ammo and leave the gun extra crispy!
(He offered and clean up after it shot 10 stages Saturday in the cold was not any more difficult than two passes of the boresnake)
So Buck will you endorse "The J. Mark" action job for 73's? (He shot it real well)

Actually I shot the marlin thru some stages so i DID hafta clean it up... that was stage 3 when the jam occured. I cleaned it good and it seems to function so far, but I need to fire some live ammo and test it out. If not, i know who to call.... and yes, you did a FINE job on that '73. It's almost as slick as my marlin.... almost :pp

That "Cata-WA-ba" kinda rhymes with "Wobbly" and thinking of the latest pic on -that- thread makes me wanna say something like, "Cata-Walla-by"... :re :w2

The shame of it all! Buck, if you haven't seen the scores, you can start crying now, you came in behind me! I'd say I won my catagory, but that would be a hollow victoy shooting it alone, but shooting FCD I also won duelist outright too (and there was competition) In LB's defense, his gun malfunction beat the hell out of my procedural! But it still means I get bragging rights over Sitting Duck!

Yea yea yea, I knew I'd be hearing it. Consider it was my first time on the dark side and the loss of my entire load of 9 rifle rounds due to the jam... blah, who needs excuses, that was FUN !!!! I just wanted a chance to try something different and try out my "feather-lights". :) Mark, I really appreciate your help with the loading instructions, bullet lube, wads, and the rifle ammo and rifle at the match. Thanks again, pard'. :ty

LMB, now you can understand why I love Gunfighter so much...it is such a different experience and I truly enjoy it. I also love BP, but Bulls Head says he's not cleaning my guns if I shoot BP on a regular basis.

I love the look and sound of BP however, I'm one of those that can't handle the smell.....actually need to cover my nose when it is being shot (makes my asthma kick up)....but Fannie...JMark's offer to clean your guns when he is around is so gentlemanly....

I know this may seem weird, but I like cleaning guns that have been shot with black powder. If done properly it is quick and easy and the smell of water is so much more pleasant than hoppes or similar such cleaners. If I clean at home, I like good old hot water as my main cleaning element-I have run a hose from the drain of the hot water heater, but truthfully I so rarely clean beyond what is done on the last stage of a shoot that I don't have to bother too much.
