This class is at the request of Duzy Wales. :ty
Here you go Duzy. I hope I can explain this clearly.
Go sign up for webshots. It's free. (I hope it's free, I signed up several years ago)
http://www.webshots.com/
Once you've done that.
Click on "Upload"
Click on "Create new album" and give your album a name where it says "new album name".
Make sure to set the Sharing Preference
chose Public Album [?]
Private Album [?] will make your pictures invisible to the Alley.
Enter Keywords / Tags, this is for people doing searches on Webshots. I always put SASS in this box. Personally, I wouldn't put any words like "shooting" or "guns" in this box.
Enter a topic and album description. Notice, no choice for "shooting" or "guns".
Click on faster upload circle. This is so everybody, including people with dial-up, can open the photos quickly.
Click "Chose Files" box, (if you don't know how to chose files from your computer, that's another class) select your photos, (hold down the Ctrl key and click on up to 50 photos from you computer folder) then "Start Upload"
Wait for the upload to complete.
Then give each picture a Title. (This is optional, I don't title many of my pictures)
Over on the right you will see some links. Highlight and copy the "post in a forum" link.
Post a New Thread in the Alley and click on insert image (the little mountain with the sun in the sky) icon on the tool bar above your message.
If the "This website is using a scripted winder, blah, blah, blah" pops up on your IE browser, right click on the bar and click on the Temporarily Allow Scripted Windows to allow the prompt to pop up for you to insert the link.
Paste your webshots link into the prompt and click "OK". Remove the [IMG] right before and right after the link in your message, or the [IMG] will appear in your post.
In Webshots, if you click on "View Album" or another view in webshots before you've copied your link, on the right hand side of your webshots page there will be "link to this album" choices. Highlight the "Post in a forum" link and paste into the "insert image" prompt.
I hope that helps.
Any questions? :waiting
