Can we discuss RELOADING DATA here or will the CAS-Gestapo come to our homes and beat us senseless for discussing powder levels in public?

Oh I say we discuss it!! I for one am planning to learn to re-load very soon...have all the stuff and no know-how!
But Ima's beau Lumpy is planning a few hands on tutorials...I say bring it on!

I am more than happy to discuss reloading data. AS LONG as there is the standard warning and understanding. Conditions are different and altitude, barometric pressure and experience play a big part. Having said that Lets Load some up!

LiverMush,
Just remember, GG asked for no abbrevaitions (why is that such a long word),
So when you say Xg of Y powder, you need to stipulate you are using X granules, not X grains, of powder. GG the rest of us mean grains when we say that.
I'll go first.
30 grains of black powder, 0.454" round ball, top with Bore Butter, #10 percussion cap.
This has been known to make the timer take a step backwards to look for air.

GG,
I've shot a Cap and Ball pistol off and on for years. Only shot one match with them, but there will be others. Just to much fun not to do.

My favorite load is FFg grade Black powder filling a case to withing 1/4 from the top and a heavily crimped bullet lubed with 50 %beeswax 40%crisco and 10 % olive oil by weight. Bullet shoud be standard weight for caliber. If shooting anything smaller than the .38 bore diameter, FFFg may be substituted. Works from the .45Colt down to the .32 S&W Short.

This load does not however apply to shotgun shells!

BTW I shot 85 graind of BP and 1 1/8 ox of shot in my shells today and twice I MISSED targets, I made the final shot with BOTH barrel on those two occassions-the smoke cloud looked like a WALL!
