This is kinda a Christmas tradition in our house. You really can't taste the butterscotch in them. The pudding carmelizes with the sugar and the butter and just leaves a yummy taste in your mouth along with a few inches on your hips! In fact, they are baking right now in my oven. So with the time I have left until they're done, I thought I would share the recipe with you all!
1 pack of frozen dough rolls (you need about 12-18)
1 cup of brown sugar
1 lg box of butterscotch pudding mix (can be instant or the cooked kind)
1 stick of butter, melted
1/2 cup of peacans (optional)
1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
THE NIGHT BEFORE: Spray a bundt pan with nonstick spray. Place frozen dough balls in the bottom of the pan as evenly as possible. Sprinkle on the dry pudding mix, then the brown sugar. Drizzle the melted butter on top of the everything. Then sprinkle on the nuts and the raisins if you are using them. Cover and place in a warm place; let rise overnight.
IN THE MORNING: Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. HINT: Make sure to line the bottom of your oven or baking rack with tin foil in case of spill over. It happens sometimes and the last thing you want is a smokey kitchen. Invert onto a large plate, remove from pan, and let cool for about 10 minutes. Pull apart just like Monkey Bread.
If you really want that butterscotch flavor, then you can get some butterscotch sundae topping and drizzle it on top of the buns when they are cooling. Yields one happy family or group of friends.:kiss
