This one is for Em!

1 1/2 cups of butter softened
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cups of baking cocoa
1/4 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp cinnamon
4-6 oz of melted chocolate, either semi sweet or milk

Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add the dry ingreidiants to next and mix well. Chill dough for at laeast 1 hour.

Roll out onto floured surface about 1/8" thinck. Cut into desired shapes or just into squares. I use a heart cookie cutter. It works very nice!
Bake 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cookies in a zig-zag pattern. Yields about 3 doz.

Boy, are you lucky I'm not in your kitchen right now. 'Cause I'd have to try the "Oh, look! The whole year of La Mode 1870, with a Buy It Now of thirty bucks!" trick.

I made these! Used two brands of cocoa...Hershey's and a Japanese brand (Diamond).

Rolled them a bit thick, just eyeballing them. Cut in diamons using the pizza cutter (multi tasking...)

Wow, baked on a baking stone, they are wonderful!

I didn't have chocolate for the top, so just sprinkled with confectioners sugar mixed with cocoa and a hint of cinnamon.

:) Definately not on my Low Carb diet but yummy!
