I had to learn how to do welt pockets before this forum existed and did not have the benefit of an excellent lesson from Tatted Lady. I also do not do them often and so every time i was making a welt pocket I had to re-learn the process until one day...alight bulb went on...
I made a welt pocket sample and hung it on by bulletin board so that the next time I have it right at my finger tips for reference.
It saves me much stomping of feet, gnashing of teeth, pulling of hair and bad words.

Thanks Sherrie B.
I have been printing out directions and pics of things I do; to give to my Granddaughter. I want to pass down my little tips and tricks to her. But, I guess I should put samples with them too.
My grandmother died when I was 6. So I didn't get anything from her. But she does help me from time to time, when I am doing something difficult. It's funny, but I can feel her presence, then I calm down and sew like I never have before. She made wedding dresses and everything else without patterns. They would just bring her a pic. Then she would sew on thousands of beads and pearls.
Boy, Oh boy, I wish she had made me samples or at least wrote it all down.
Sherrie B., thanks for the suggestion.

When I was in "Sewing School" a million years ago we had written instructions then you would attach a sample to the page. All went into a loose leaf binder. Mine was stolen when I turned it in to be graded. Grrrrrr.
