anyone know where I might find a pattern for this??? it is fitted and is open up the sides so you can get to your guns quicker.
And I was wondering if there is another split skirt pattern other than Laughing Moon? I have the McCalls or Butterick which ever one that is, and I have 4 now, so I wanted something a little different.

Hey Poney Racer, I don't have any pics yet, there are several out there tho! every time I turned around someone was taking a pic. I will post when I get mine back.
Thanks! I ran into a good buy on that fabric quite by accident, I was going to the bike shop which was closed so I wondered into this little quilt shop and ta-da there it was, 8 yards for $7.50! I may have a jacket out of it soon.

I don’t know if this is helpful or not but Buckaroo Bobbins as added an ankle length version to their Outing Jacket pattern. I have not tried this nor do I own it. I know that some of the other ladies have had problems with their patterns, but I don’t recall seeing anything about this pattern. http://www.buckaroobobbins.com/page9.html
They also have a split skirt pattern (on the same page as the jacket). This I think Fannie had a problem with. I own this one but have never made it.
I have made the ladies blouses, Primerose skirt & the men’s shirts with good success.
I hope this is some what helpful & would love to see your animal print outfit!!!

I worked at a place called G Street Fabrics and we had the $1.97 table.
When I was patient enough camo patterns would come in that when I was in highschool all my hunting outfits were made for me by mom or older sister.
My sister would aslo make me wild shirts to wear for fun - like zebra stripes and leopard pull over shirts - back in my hard rock craze of the mid to late 80's.
Hope to shoot again at same place and actually meet you in person.

I may order the split skirt, I have the Laughing Moon pattern but it looks difficult.
Poney, I have been to G-Street, I have to take out a loan when I go there! I would like to get up there some day and buy some ultrasuede tho.

The Laughing Moon split skirt is wonderful!!!! You should give it a try if you already have it. I love mine. I have made it twice & have plans to make several more. The only “hard” thing, if you want to call it that, are all the button holes for the front panel. Really you could just leave it off if you wanted to.
Here are a couple links to some pictures of the ones that I made from the Laughing Moon Pattern.

I really love that one. I was thinking of selling my Buckaroo Bobbins split skirt pattern. I am not sure that I will use it seeing as like the LM one so much. Mine is from before they added the vest though. PM me if you are interested.

Extend it! :rofl I wish! You forget I am barely 5’4”. If I do a 1 ½” hem then it is about perfect. My green one could actually be a tiny bit shorter.

Yup that vest is the Laughing Moon, but like I said I am not tall person & I am very short waisted. So I luck out I guess on that pattern that it looks longer on me?

I totally agree with Lily. The LM spit skirt is easy, you can do it in about 2 hrs from start to finish. I just love them and they are great to shoot in. I have the Buckaroo Bobbins one and i will not use it. I tried it once and i didnt like it at all.
This is my latest LM skirt, i wore it at our Nationals but didnt get a picture of me in it. The only time consuming thing on this was all the embroidery which i did by hand.

Angel, Folkwear also has a divided skirt pattern, their Big Sky Riding Skirt:
http://www.folkwear.com/frontier.html
Assembly is finicky, and if I did it again, I'd make the lengthwise seams of the "legs" straight so that the skirt would be wider and have less of a flared effect. But it's a good pattern, especially if you like your riding skirt very skirt-like; the Buckaroo Bobbins divided skirt is too narrow and trouser-like for my taste.
The other nice thing about the Folkwear pattern is that the front panel is designed to fold back and button on itself, rather than be removed entirely, when you want to ride astride (or look as if you're about to). When you want to go back to your modest skirt-like look, you don't have to try to remember where you put the front panel you removed!
Cheers,
Coffee Em

Clancy, the thing about your embroidery is, not only do you do it, but when you're done, it looks good. As in, really, really good. If I did it, it would take three years to finish, and the finished product would look like someone's mommy was trying to teach her to hand-sew.
Sigh. Just another reason why Ms. Coffee needs that embroidery machine...

Angel that sounds like a great deal!... Im saving for a new machine, but with wanting to shoot EOT next year the sewing machine has to take a backseat...Im kinda hoping maybe Santa Claus will leave one under the christmas tree...
I need to look into the costs of how much they are over there compared to here and see if it is worth buying one there and getting a power converter for it to use back here. (yes we have different power wattage 240v not 110)

I don't know the brand yet but am sure it is a good one.
Coffee, I don't have a picture, it was at a vendor's at the Shootout. It was fitted somewhat and the sides were not sewn up, the were hemmed and left open so you could grab your guns and shoot - altho you would have to put your shotgun belt over it to reach the shells, but the sides would be over your pistols and out of the way. If I could find a pattern for a women's fitted duster type jacket I could make it. I like the one someone listed here I think it was a buckaroo bobbins jacket, I will have to go back and look, it just wasn't a duster type jacket.
When I have more time to think about it, I may figure something out.:18..
The machine is a Husqvarna, model the Rose?

Angel i also have this pattern. Im not sure if they still carry it but you may find it on the net. I have made this coat and it always gets lots of comments. Even had a few people ask me to make them one. It has the split back and you could quite easily leave the sides open...
Now if your wanting to shoot in it, i wouldnt recommend it, they are a bit long, and you need to think about treading on it or getting it caught on something...
Mine is made from a taupe coloured lightweight canvas with a dusty rose contrast and i just used muslin to line it.....And i let it get nice and dirty so it has that worn in cowboy look....

I have the Simplicity pattern, and that is one of the projects on my list for next year. I plan to make one, probably out of wool to wear during my trip to Alaska. The Tombstone Annie Oakley coat is hanging in my closet. I actually bought it from a vendor that used to sell for Tombstone. It isn't lined, which I'd like to do (possibly a removable one) and I'd like to soutache to it. But I really like it, even though I still take it off when I shoot.

Tombstone Outfitters responded quickly to my e-mail about their sizing, but they don't seem to have a standard set of body measurements for each size. Their reply: "The sizes are a little different for each item.
Please let me know what pattern or patterns you are interested in and about
what size and I can give you the measurements."
Well, fair enough, then. Their e-mail address is: tombstone@rtconnect.net .
