It's raining cats and dogs (3 inches in past 3 1\2 hours) so we are playing with the new toy. Can anyone answer this question. :help :help :help When using FLUFFY, as in towels or blanket type fabric (for baby blankets), does stablizer go under or on top of fabric. Hubby and I are having FUN breaking needles, tangling thread and LEARNING lots of new stuff.
Nellie is at her destination and had us use the Google.com search to find the best route to her RV park. It has some new stuff and is it ever neat!
Thank God for cell phones and thoughtful daughters :kiss :kiss :kiss who keeps her parents from worrying when she is on the road. Nellie's Mom

Hi Mom,

When embroidering on towels and stuff, I use 'Solvy' on top, and "cut-away" underneath.

The"Solvy" holds down the pile on the fabric, so the stitches stitch better.

Nellie assured me someone would have the info we needed. So far we've broken a few needles ... wrong size, had a few tangles ... wrong kind of thread and learned a lot. When we get good at it, I'll post a picture if Nellie will walk me thru it. If the baby blanket turns out well, maybe we can post a picture of it but it won't be tonight. Thanks again:ty :ty . Make sure you use embroidery needles and thread.

And use lingerie/bobbin thread in the bobbin.

Never use regular thread, it's too thick and stiff.

Don't be stingy with the stabilizer either. Use the right kind for the fabric, espeically knits and lightweight fabrics.

Anything else, just ask.

Oh, how cute! Good work!

I'm slowly working on El Husband to convince him we neeeeeeeed an embroidery machine. Yesterday he said, "Wouldn't it be neat to have a Halloween-themed embroidered Guayabera shirt?"

"Yep," I said. "If I had an embroidery machine, I could design the images and program 'em in to make a one-of-a-kind Guayabera."

"You could?"

"Yep."

I left it at that. But I could hear the wheels turning, in there behind his ears, for several minutes afterward. Nyah-hah-hah.

Mom always said it works better if you make them think it is their idea! :rofl :lool

We have been wondering what kind to get. There are so many different machines with so many different prices! Ay carumba!

Very pretty blanket you two!!!! Just watch out, because it is addictive.

Lioness, Mine is a Babylock. They are really pricey now!!! That's why I don't have a new one:tap .

Several years back, I went to a three day class/seminar. I really learned a lot, especially in the "advanced" digitizing class.

Now I went to this class without ever seeing, touching, and not knowing anything about digitizing!!!!

And advanced class, what was I thinking!!!:faint

Well, it was all Greek to me, but I listened and wrote down important things, (because all of them were writing it down!). I didn't know a thing about what they are talking about but, what to heck, I might as well write it down too. We had a booklet, so I was writing it down on each corresponding page. They all had their laptops and was actually doing what she was teaching!!! Those 3 hours really gave me a headache!!!!

But you know what,,,,, when I finally saved my money and bought the Palette, (the thing for digitizing on the computer), I immediately jumped from beginner to advanced because everything from the class finally made sense.:tban :tban :tban Everything I learned at the class came out of the deep creases of my brain, and made it all fall into place.

Didn't mean to high jack this thread.

I don't know anything about the other machines, so don't know which one is better, easier or cheaper. Heck, the new Palette is probably so advanced, I would have to go to class again, for it and the new model machines.

My dealer has classes all the time. And anything you need help with, they will talk you through it on the phone or I can go to the store.

P.S. When I have time!!!! I'm going to digitize the pattern of my bathroom edge tiles and sew it on a set of towels. Yea right, like I'm going to find time.

Where are those 40 hour days,,,, please send some my way!!!:waiting
