Yesterday we shot at Gunpowder Creek, which is where "The Carolina Belles Bust Out" will be held. It is such a great club. Being at the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains, it was such a refreshing Autumn day......no sweltering heat! :ban

We had a Team Event side match. And since my beloved thought it up, it was "Bulls Head's Dancing Woody". :rofl The entire posse lined up on the firing line with rifles fully loaded, and as many rounds on your person as you wanted. There was a 2x4 suspended by chains between 2 stakes that we were shooting. As soon as the "Woody" fell into 2 pieces everyone stopped shooting. Our posse won the event, splitting the "Woody" in 8.54 seconds. It was a lot of fun.

Livermush Buck has his first day of training as a posse marshall. Here he is in the UPS Freight building, taking a well deserved break.

And as I was the sole Carolina Belle ™ at the range yesterday, I decided that Bulls Head and I should wearing our "going steady" shirts. Aren't we cute?

Fannie,
Great pictures.
Yes it was great to be able to shoot without sweating all over everthing. Chipmunk was really not sweating, even with a coat on all day.
The side match was really fun, getting to shoot up Bulls Head Bill's woody.
Livermush did a good job as posse marshal.

Fannie,
The picture of you and Bulls Head doesn't do your shirts justice. They are alot purtier close up.
And Livermush really did need that break. He was working too hard (most) of the day.
*whisper mode on* I just enjoyed the shoot because I wasn't being run down with a camera. I hate getting my picture taken at a shoot *whisper mode off*

Hi Chipmunk,
I like your new alias. Is it your new SASS name or just a temporary thing?

Lucky you, that's one of the things I miss about VA. the change of seasons. They moved the regional to Oct hoping we'd have some cooler weather, yea we did, instead of 100 it was only 89. Oh well, you just gota love TEXAS,.:) :)

Hi Chipmunk,
I like your new alias. Is it your new SASS name or just a temporary thing?
As soon as I get registered, yes, it will be my SASS name...
I pretend to act a little irritated on the fourth stage and hollered "The next time someone calls me 'Chipmunk' I'm gonna change my alias" You can thank Bulls Head Bill for having my name changed :re
And I dunno about the rest of NC or not, but it just suddenly changed from summer to winter in about two days up here...one day I go outside in shorts and a T-shirt, I go out two days later and at 10:30 AM can still really see my breath.

I know what you mean, Clancy. I thought at first they were sneakers too. I think it's just that you don't often see white moccasins. Would love to see a better picture of them.

The leaves here are at their peak in color and now starting to pile up on the ground. We shoot in a wooded mountain hollow, so this Sunday we'll probably we kicking through a foot of fallen leaves. It's always the prettiest but, alas, it's our last match of the season. The weather is looking iffy but we're keeping our fingers crossed for a good last match.

Our leaves were reported to be only at 10% this past weekend. We are a little behind but it is starting to cool off, especially at night. Barb, sorry to hear about your season ending. We don't stop !! Come on down and bring some friends (or daughter ;) ). :)
