Howdy friends and family!
As you may already know Nellie Blue posted my standing in the Western Regional, which was held by The Double RR BAR Regulator's on the very property where Roy Rogers was a member of and shot often.
The Double RR Bar held this even and proceeds went to benefit Happy Trails Children's Foundation so I had a dual purpose this weekend.
I took some photos and I am providing a different look at the shoot than what we normally see here on the Alley. I think you will get some great ideas for your own shoots and have a look a what to expect in a SASS Regional shoot, at least out West here.
One interesting note, then on with the pictures. The site which is on a dry lake bed, is the same dry lake in which the movie "STAGECOACH" with John Wayne, (1939), was made during the raid on the stagecoach by the indians, and eventual reinforcement of some "Blue Coats"..( respect shown here for our Southern Gentlemen).

The jagged stones and rock formations were an excellent background!

It was often reported and caught here on film, the ghostly/shadowy images of Roy and Dale watching over us!

Stage Eight, Story and Picture's. Seems the posse in front of us left behind a shooter. Some say she was without much personality and lacked a third dimensional look. But that didnt Stop our Posse Leader Ivory Jack or Otto N. Sure from the hook up with her.

Of Course I didn't get a chance to do much picture taking of costumes, with my HTCF responsibilities, but I did manage a few for you ladies:

Tom Muley and his lovely wife provided some excellent food through out the event. They are also great supporters of Happy Trails Children's Foundation.

Many of you may have gotten to meet Hipshot, but his lovely wife Blue Eyes doesn't always travel with him due to his travel schedule. A true competitor and great cowgirl in her own right!

But all good things do come to end. A full moon provides the only light on a dark range filled with memories and treasures!

I bid a warm good bye to the Double RR Bar Regulators, and thank them , SASS and all the hard working men and women who helped put this event together. I want to thank the men and women of our Military who stood strong against our enemies to allow me and others to do this activity, and finally to Roy and Dale who have provided much of the inspiration and motivation.
Ther are many more pictures, but you will have to wait until Mr. Quigley sends them to me! Hope you enjoyed this pictorial view as much as I did !

Thanks Kid! That was great! I've realized lately that if anyone anywhere ever wants to know anything about CAS they can come right here on the Alley. We must have the best pictures and stories you can find anywhere around. And anyone who is just getting started in the sport can actually understand what it is we do by all these wonderful photos!!:ty :ty
