Can I buy any ruffler to go on my sewing machine? Or does it have to be manufacturer specific?
I have a Brother (I'ts not much but it does the job.) Do any of you know if Brother makes a ruffler?

I don't know much about rufflers other than you have to know if you have a high shank or a low one. As that is where it will attach. I just call the store were I bought mine and said .... I have a Janome and I want a ruffler. They asked the model and then said this is the one you want and showed me how to use it. But I sure you could call a local sewing machine distributor and they could advise you.

HAve a look at the brother website or speak to your local dealer.
I have a brother machine and i have a ruffler for it. It cost me about $92.00 Australian. But you need to know if your machine is a low shank or high shank, plus if its an older modle you may have to just get a generic one that fits low shanks.

I used a few Brothers before I bought my Huskystar. Most of them are low shank, but just a warning, the generic ruffler I bought kept making the part that holds the needle come off in the middle of sewing. See if you can't get one for a Brother, if not sew slowly. I kept taking it in to have the needle holder put back on and it cost me so much that I upgraded.
