Hey LL, that sounds b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l.

I want to make a walking dress soon. What pattern are you using? One from TV?

Hey, how much rain did ya'll get up there? We heard that Allentown,Pa. got over 9 inches, and some of the other areas got over 12 inches. Ya'll ought to be washed out into the ocean by now!!!!

We got about 4" here. The folks to the north of us got pounded. There is just mud everywhere! We needed the rain, but holy smokes! AND the stinkin' rain washed out our match today! That really bites! It was the last one at Guthesville for the year! :cry It's one of our favorite local matches.

As far as the dress goes, it's going to be the TV 221 tie back skirt and probably an extremely modified Hermione overskirt. The bodice I'm still toying around with. My little voice in side me is saying " over the top double breasted" . I usually listen to my little voice when it comes to sewing. Hasn't been wrong yet.:re

LL, Truly Victorian has a double breasted pattern now. I love a double breasted bodice and plan to make one some time in the future.

Hey LL that looks great, cant wait to see that one completed.Great scetches by the way. When i was in Denver with PMS we went to Denver fabrics and they ahd this neat book of figurs that you could ue to draw your dresses on. She bought one, they seem like a really neat idea. If we ask nicely she may post a pic of what im talking about. I think from memory they were about $35.00

On the subject of scetches how many of you keep your scetches when the dress is completed? I have kept all of mine and have made them into a kind of album, with samples of the fabric and trim that was used and the patterns and have a photograph of the finished costume. Kind of like a portfolio i would say...

Clancy, those templates are great. I use the "hour glass" template for my outfits.

The figures aren't as cute as the one Fannie posted, but the Threads magazine site has croquis (this is the official technical fashion designer term for these drawings, though it sounds like some kind of toasted bread to me!) for various figures to download here:

We can't post a lot of our sketches right now, because they are http://images.animationfactory.com/imagedir/animations/business/filecabinet_messages/top_secret/top_secret_sm_nwm.gifhowever when you all do get to see them, you will notice we are all in that same pose!

I do love those templates!

I have changed what I have been drawing over however. I had poor Iron feather take a picture of me in my corset and combination in a similar pose and then messed with it in Photoshop until I had an outline of me.

So now when I do my sketches they are on my body not the perfect template.
