The Liger (Panthera leogris) is a cross (a hybrid) between a female tiger and a male lion. It is therefore a member of genus Panthera. It has also been known as a lion-tiger mule. A Liger looks like a giant lion with diffused stripes. Some male Ligers grow sparse manes. Like tigers, but unlike lions, Ligers enjoy swimming. The Liger is the largest animal in the feline family Felidae

That's one ENORMOUS moggy, that is. Something that size could hunt...well, anything it pleased, I'd say.

How many of you have seen "Fly Boys?" The Lion in that movie acted just like my cat.

He's so ferocious we have to keep him behind bars. :lool:lool

Miss PMS, that is one BEAUTIFUL "Lap King"! I would like to have a cat, but I am not sure my dog would approve. We rescued her from a life of sleeping in a car at night (in LA) and chained up to a post during the day. She was "Too Big" for the family that had her. She was returned to a shelter and ran out the door onto the freeway in Santa Monica. When asked if he was going to chase her because she might get killed, the man just said, "Well, she's just going to be killed here too." and he left. The lady who rescued her from the freeway took TWO HOURS to catch her and (since she had her in the car and on the chain)graciously asked on my ACD board if anyone could take her. My Mom knew we should have her. And we do. THANKS MOM!
