I believe the time has come for me to seriously begin shopping for a new sewing machine. I'm hoping that Santa will take the BIG HINT when I start letting brochures lay all over the house! Once Darcy comes back to the states she'll retrieve her machine which I use exclusively for buttonholes. My dear old Kenmore is showing occasional signs of age and it does not make buttonholes nearly as efficiently or neatly as her machine does.
So tell me, what features and attachments do you feel are "must haves".

Barb- I have had my Singer machine about a year and I have 2 features I like on this machine, it has a clear see thru bobbin cover & I love the needle threader on the machine also.
All the old machines I have owned in the past never had these 2 features--& I was thrilled to see a machine that could thread a needle. :)

That needle threader sure is a great little option. It sure seems like since I first learned to sew (way back when), the holes in the needles have gotten smaller and the thread has become thicker and limper at the same time! It sure can't be the eyes, can it? :re

Mine also has a thread cutter, just push the button. Most of the stitches have the thread cutter button you choose before stitching, so it cuts it auto. after sewing. Don't know how I ever did without it!!!! :bow
