Longhaired Chihuahua. Chiquita is very pretty and a "quiet" dog, not the barky kind. Her "boyfriend" the father to the puppies is exactly like her, great temperment but white with tan spots. Chiquita is my constant companion here at the ranch, she and the puppies are the only dogs allowed indoors in our tiny house. The little girl is spoken for, she's the cream colored one, and we are keeping the little boy.

[SIZE="7"]WWAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I WANT A PUPPY! Oh shoot, I got up this morning & realized my young teen-age puppiette (Hooxei) managed to levitate the lower half of my living room curtain into her house (kennel) last night and shredded it to pieces! :faint Guess I'll pass on the puppy. (And yes, my livingroom is graced with 2 x-large size dog crates -the pretty black coated wire kind) It's the only room in the house large enough for these monsters!

These two are getting cuter by the day! And so easy to train, they are taken outside regularly by Tim and I and have yet to have an accident indoors. Mom is starting to wean them and they ate their first solid food today. They are playing and growling...it sounds like tiny motors! And I took them outside on the lawn today, the big dogs are so gentle with them especially the aussie shepard, it's just hysterical to watch a tiny puppy chase a huge dog around in the grass!:lool
I will try to take more pictures.

Aspen, didn't anyone tell you that dog crates are FINE FURNITURE???

I have two extra large crates in my living room as end tables. One wire crate in my bedroom as another horizontal surface to drop stuff on.

We also have a very large wire crate in our RV. We use it as a work table when I cook with my dutch ovens.

Then there are the two we have folded down in storage AND three more in a closet. Can you tell I raised guide dog pups since 1989?

Dogwoman! It's nice to know that I'm not the only wackoo about dogs & crates!LOL:rofl I pulled it farther away from the curtains & she managed to get them again last night.....I swear she's got a brass picker-upper hid somewhere in there to help her get these things!!!!

I have one of those large black wired crates in the kitchen. It's Dolly's safe place.

Yeah, crates tend to accumulate in puppy rasier households. On top of that, the dogs have two beds that we bought at Costco. The viszla sleeps on the couch.

I could fit about 20 chihuahuas in my crates!

Yup, we have three crates, two sheepskin beds and one big quilted pillow for the four legged members of the family here. Did I mention my horses have carpeted stalls......:faint and no they are not spoiled, they earned it!

NOW you said something. Many years ago, when I left for college, we gave our horses to our attorney. He loved horses and ours were not doing much but eating.

This guy built an addition to his house that was bigger than the original house! He bought a barn and tore it down board by board and used the wood for the house addition. It was amazing.

Back to the horses, the walkway between the stalls in his barn was carpeted. The horses had music/radio to listen to. The stalls were LUXURIOUS.

I wanted to be his horse!

Mine are retired endurance horses. The mare has over 25,000 endurance race miles and the gelding has 20,000. Both have done the Tevis race, which is the hardest race on the planet. We put carpet down so that when they knock their hay on the floor they do not ingest sand, sand causes sand colic a very serious problem here in the southwest. I figure the horses have earned the very best I can afford. We also recycled a massive building from Fort Huachuca, the beams are 12 X 12's, and buried the main posts six feet. Once we had a 70 mile an hour windstorm here, the building never even shook! I love them they are my best buddies and have carried me many miles though many dangers and adventures. Now they are retired to pleasure and parades, and the mare carries handicapped people into areas that they would never have the opportunity to see otherwise. The gelding will always be a teenager, he's a spunky fellow! He loves to do the Fiesta De los Vaqueros Parade in Tucson every year, he really likes to prance and show off for the crowds. I also bought them a fancy three horse slant trailer that is extra high, the gelding is 16 hands high. So some might consider them spoiled, but they have better manners than some folks kids, and I can never do enough for them. They have a five acre pasture to themselves and are outside 24/7 and only come up the the barn to be fed and loved and groomed and occasionally ridden. They would live in the house if I let them!

My mare was a pet. We'd ride her but she'd follow us around the farm when we had work to do.

Our house had a double split door. One morning we heard these heavy footsteps on our porch. Mike (sort of like my father) started yelling about one of the employees on the porch with his boots and the upper door opened. It was the horse looking in our kitchen.

We also had a jackass. Jeremiah used to go down to the local dairy farm (Fiddlers) and let out his dairy herd. We'd get a call about 2:00 a.m. about our $%%^&#@ jackass letting them out.

We'd get the horses, Mike would saddle the gelding, I'd just ride bareback (too darned tired to play with saddles) and we'd herd them back into the pasture.

I have to wonder how many drunks driving home at that hour gave up drinking after seeing Santa Claus (Mike had a white beard and wore red long johns) and Pocohontas (I had long hair in braids) herding dairy cows.

Jeremiah the jackass was the COOLEST critter. Little kids could ride him all over the place but if you were old enough (and he could determine old enough), you were FLYING. He also had a rule: no smoking in the barn. He'd raise H#LL if anyone went near that barn with a cigarette.

I could go on. We had so many darned cool critters on the farm. Each one was kept as a pet because they had so darned much personality.

Mo,

You have never had a dog? You are missing out on some serious love there girl! But, I can understand how that happens, I never had a dog until after I moved out of the house and got marrried. My Dad is very allergic to dogs and cats...so we had fish when I was growing up. But, fish don't cuddle well. :lool

German Shepherds are sweet dogs. They are loyal and protective and make great big cuddlers.

Yep, they are CUTE! Too bad I couldn't bring them to the mall, but they have to "go" a lot. Tim made a beautiful outdoor kennel for them so they could play outside when it's not too hot or raining. They are so lovable and fun to play with...although the Mom is getting a bit jealous......but she gets LOTS of attention.

I've always been a cat person. There's nothing like a kitty snuggling and purring.

My only experience with a GS was with Jess's mom's dog. I was standing too close to her, the GS pushed me away, and gave me a big bruise. If we get a puppy, I should be okay with it. I want to be sure it bonds with our kitties (and wimpy ol' me  ) before it gets too big. I will take it to obedience training.

Allie Mo
