Miss Fannie, this may be a place for a Kiwi......

I have a 1985 Toyota HiAce van.
I've had it for 2.5 years.
It has a Ford 302 V8 and auto gearbox fitted (10 years ago).
It's drivin' me nuts :goofy

Wallaby Jack
07-23-2006, 03:22 AM

Wallaby, the easiest way to remember which side of the road to drive on is

'Centre of the road is closest to the driver'.

That is unless you got a 30 yr old American car that has not been corrected.:gg :gg :lool here where the steering wheel is on the CORRECT side :rofl :go.

The biggest problem I found was turning left at the intersection. Had to correct myself a couple of times before I fully grasped the idea above.:faint

Here's mine:

2000 Tundra 4x4....Paid in full!!! (just got the title yesterday!!!)

It'll crawl over rocks on two wheels (Right front, left rear)...it'll go thru snow with no chains...it'll play in the knee deep mud pulling a trailer...and it drives down the freeway feeling like a car instead of a truck.

Oh look, you caught it at a rare moment when it was clean! It gets a bath about once a year whether it needs it or not! :lool

DogWoman
07-23-2006, 10:46 AM
AHHHHH!!! Nellie, you got a TUNDRA???? Oh girl, we gotta talk at Utah War!

When our Tacoma blows up, we want to replace it with the NEW TUNDRA (towing rated for 10,000 lbs). Can't wait till that baby comes out.

Don't think my Tacoma drives much different than a Tundra except that we can go on roads a bit more narrow. They climb rocks like you wouldn't believe!

Nellie Blue
07-23-2006, 10:54 AM
Yep, Dog Woman.... I LOVE MY TUNDRA!!! :jp :jp :jp

I've got over 105,000 miles on it and it's been good to me! When the day comes that I have to replace it, I'll replace it with one of those new Tundras also (love that bigger engine)....but I'm going to enjoy not having a payment for a little while! :D :D :D

The first year we shot Utah War, a shooter came in driving a semi with flat bed. There was nothing on this flat bed BUT HIS GUN CART.

I can imagine people wondering what it was as they passed him!

Thanks, I am pretty happy with this car. It is a 1994 Cadillac Eldorado with a 270 hp 4.6 liter Northstar V8. And it even gets semi decent gas mileage (26-27 miles per gallon@70 mph)

Fannie stop makin me drool!

Well my new baby ( from Jan 06 this year) is a new to me 98' Burbon (chevy Suburban) but I car him "Burbon" I adore my full sized SUV I can load all three kids gun cart, weekend visiting essentials (thats a few suitcases for you men folk) and still have room for the Holly dog and wikkett (though we don't take them to the desert in the summer too hot for the long haired babies)

THIS sunday we are taking Cookie and Lizzie Shooting with the Churro Valley Regulators! (wahoo!) I doubt it will be a regular trip for them but its will be so fun having friends come up instead of making that LONG drive down to see them!

IMA...are you reading this?!?!? there is always room for two more!

Vic, I always wanted a vintage pickup (ideally, with a custom gypsy vardo pickup camper for it!), and El Husband and I covet a Smart for in-town driving around here.

As for that scorchin' Mini, their class was always my favorite to watch in SCCA road racing. I remember seeing someone spin out and roll his at a corner. He jumped out, he and a couple of corner workers rolled it back rubber-side-down, and he drove back onto the course, turf still clinging to the roof! That was back before the new version, but still...

Hello Friends,

I've been too "lazy" to go take a :ss of my new car. A new car is a really big deal to me as we always "drive 'em 'till the wheels fall off." I absolutely love my new Jeep Liberty.

:rant BTW, this is a vent post. I've had a terrible year. My sewing machine is back in the shop. My red dress may never get finished the way I planned.

My husband is on disability. I had to go back to work in May to help pay for the house and unexpected purchase of a new car.

I walk to work in the dark and pass scary people every day. :scared

I got in the poison oak again.

Now, look at my new car. Someone stole a piece of it last night. Oh, it also got keyed in three places. :mad

:ty for listening, I think I've got it all out. :rant

Regards,

Allie Mo

I honestly believe this is a direct result of the fact that we don't have parents any more in this country. Instead we have folks who try to be a "friend", who try to let their children "express" or "find" themselves.

Or we have folks that pretty much ignore thier kids and let them do what they will. Oh they may bemoan the way their kids act, or blame it on their kids falling in with the "wrong" crowd. BULLS***!!!! If they'd had real parents doing a good job, like mine did, they wouldn't have had a chance to fall in with any crowd except one made up of decent folks.

It's because of this lack of control that bad things like this happen to good people like Allie Mo.
:rant

OK, now that I got that outta my system, Allie, really sorry to hear about this.

Just want you to know that Jess Brown has been an inspiration to me in how he handles what life throws his way, and that you and he Filly and I count among our friends.

Oh OH! That really trips my trigger! I was parked at work one day, came out and one of our customers had keyed my SUV. He didn't like where I parked. and HE had parked in MY SPACE.
Recently, I had to get a new car because my dear SUV was on it's way out. I bought a black 1999 Mustang Cobra SVT. Lovely car. I didn't want a stick (it is). I didn't want a small car (it is). I didn't want a Mustang (it is) AND I didn't want to purchase it from a certain dealer (I did). All in all, it is a GREAT car. I was doing so well THEN my Mother's car, a 1986 Ford Bronco, our best and favorite car went down. My son and I went out and I purchased them a 2006 Dodge Charger. Room for 4+, drives like a dream, my Mom can drive it, saves loads of gas over the Cobra, looks good, really safe, and a good deal. I have payments all over again...YUCK! but it's safe. It looks something like this (add the stripe): Oh, and the little black one is what my Cobra looks like. That is not a really good photo, though.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for the condolences on the defiling of my new car.

Daw, er Clay...you and Filly are two of my favorite folks. You are genuine Good Guys. Thanks about the kind words for Jess too. I wish I had his strength of character.

Annie, I love the red Liberty and even thought of buying one in that color. However, we have no garage here nor at the new place and rarely wash our cars. So, I went with a dirt-compatible color. :lool

Hi Ima,

:ty for the kind thoughts.

:rant Maybe I should start my own little rant thread...

Hubbie picked up my :sewing today. There was a nasty note on it saying not to mess with the bobbin tension, the adjustment screw was missing. Well, it wasn't when I took it in.

Hubbie ordered a new wheel well cover. Ouch $75 + and he's going to do the labor.

I hurt my knee Sunday clearing brush and can hardly walk today. It got worse every day this week. :rant

:ty for "listening" again.

Regards,
