Here is a picture of the Bathing Costume I wore at the Utah Summer Games, and they gave me First Place for shooting costume for it. You can't see the cap too well, it ties behind my head (and I got my ears sunburned cuz I forgot to put sunscreen on them!) It is a small blue stripe with little stars and a red line between the stripes, with red bloomers. What fun! And it was cool.

Very cute! What kind of shoes did you wear?

The darn shoes were the hardest part. I ended up with KMart moccasin loafer looking ones, just black slip ons. I cut the tassels off and voila! They have a little padding in the foot so they weren't too bad to walk around in.

Up close details of the front. My lady who sews for me does such a great job, but she has moved to Idaho!!!!! I'm so sad........
The bloomers are red with the same type of trim on them. The top and skirt are made together with the bloomers separate, the pattern called for the bloomers to be sewn on to the top....not very practical!!

Skye, is that the Mantua Maker pattern or a different one?

This one is made from the Folkwear pattern. It has a different hat too than the other ones, not a mop cap type one. Wanna borrow it?

That is the pattern I am going to use for my next one. I too had decided that the bloomers would get the waist band and the top would be sewn to the skirt. Poor Catawba Kate had it made the other way and it wasn't very practical. UGH! I think she has changed it now, though....much easier to go to the LGR.
