It was wonderful! We all had a great time! There was even a special surprise for Black Hills Barb, but I'll let her tell you about that! Ready? So here we go! Here is me in my striped black and white dress with my hat. I love this dress!!!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:21 PM
............back view with the hat. And yes, that is an antique buckle and I wore my antique black hat pin, too!

Here is my little girl wearing her GWTW dress and shooting Long Range Rifle side match with her .22

Biloxi Bob (who you'll see pictures of soon) brought his family on Friday. His two little girls are so cute! The youngest was quite taken with Kelsey. When Rick (that's his real name) was tucking them into bed Friday night, she asked him if she could go with him Saturday to see the "princess". He laughed and said not this time. Then she said "Ok, Daddy------but can I have a cowboy princess dress, too?"!!!!

Now everyone here knows how competitive Vickie is. She always "shadow shoots" the stage before hand----usually several times and we tease the hell out of her because of it! Biloxi Bob knows about this too, and decided to get in on the act! So here he is mimicing the "gamer"! :lool
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:32 PM
Everyone remembers Vickie nose diving into the rocks last time at Topton, also. So Timberland Renegade was kind enough to escort Vickie to the starting position at the 50/50 side match! He didn't want her to trip on the little pointy rocks!:gg
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:33 PM
And what would any match be with the Change Boys................oh lordy!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:34 PM
Cayley stayed around the bays where the long range competitions were, and Duane did everything but the long range! Here is the pair of them together!

Saturday was hot and steamy! We started out on bay #5, so that means that we had to walk ALL THE WAY up the hill, ALL THE WAY down the hill, and then ALL THE WAY back up the hill again----killer!!!!
The day started off on on good note, though. Here are my Long Range Rifle Side Match Winners------Kelsey won her class with her .22! :tban

Here is our Posse---------------#5!

Now there is a private joke amoung us with Duane and pigs---------it's a long story, but it's funny to everyone BUT Duane! So to find out that there were 2 stages involving pigs was just too tempting for me and a few others. Duane's reply-----"It's not funny" :lool :lool :lool
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:45 PM
.............and here is Cayley
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:46 PM
............and Vickie.................
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:47 PM
..........and Kelsey. She is the only one that looks cute on the pig!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:49 PM
Here is the banquet. It was very nice! Kelsey looked so sweet--------she had a great time dancing with every man that she could drag to the dance floor, and she also loved showing everyone her Chatelaine dance card case and explaining it purpose. She was a true little lady that night!

Mommy wasn't a slouch, either! This is the dress that I made with the help of lots of folks from here (fringe from Lizzie, dress construction advice from Fannie and Ali, hair ornament from Lillie, and just about everything else from Josie) and Heather at TV. It is a copy of a dress image from Smith's Fashion Bazar from 1879, which you all will see one of the these days. In a way, this was a true test for us-------being able to construct a gown from an image on the CD's. It worked wonderfully!

Cayley gave our Posse Leader a tip about shooting his rifle. He couldn't get over how much it helped him, so he decided to thank Dawg by buying him a shot of :tql ! Here is Hangin' Dawg, Swift Montana Smith, and Joe Too at the bar.
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:55 PM
..............and this is the face of Dawg after the shot!!!! LMAO!!!!!:lool I was smart enough NOT to join them!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:56 PM
Dawg's disposition changed quickly, though, when he took the dance floor with Kelsey!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 02:58 PM
I would rather go to these kinda bars---------the ones that I can shoot from! This is from the last stage on Saturday.
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:02 PM
We lucked out on Sunday. It wasn't as hot or humid, and man-----we had a nice breeze, too! Kelsey was very excited because I let her shoot in her underwear! BTW Josie, she has officially outgrown her corset.
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:04 PM
She also got to meet lots of people (and vice versa, cause I'm sure she made an impression on them!)--------------here is Mild Bill whom she has known since her Daddy started shooting CAS. He is very impressed with her performance and the improvements she's made.
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:05 PM
Here she is with Swift Montana Smith, our Posse Leader. You may have read some of his stories and poems in the Chronicle.

Here she is with Cayuse and his lovely wife, Sachem Rose.

When we got to Stage 8, we read the scenario and started to laugh hysterically! It was titled "PINKERTONS" and started off as "Quickdraw and Lady LaSalle................."! I guess we are now part of the Topton family. It's obvious that Vickie is a Pinkerton. I guess I'm just deep undercover! :lool
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:11 PM
That horse was a bit rough to ride and I wasn't in the saddle. So I had to hang on to SOMETHING!!!!:rofl :rofl :rofl Vickie was horrified!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:14 PM
This is the skirt that I made last minute Thursday night to take with me. I love the outfit---------it is very cool since it is made of searsucker. But what I loved was that I finally got a chance to wear my stockings with the red bows up the back. SEE??????:faint
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:15 PM
Kelsey loved shooting from the horse, too. She shot this stage in 33.60. Her done her mamma proud!
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:17 PM
Duane isn't much on talking..................he likes to think about the stage and how to shoot it. Here he is at his most talkative!:rofl
Lady LaSalle
07-10-2006, 03:19 PM
Here is Quickdraw, Biloxi Bob, and Black Hills Barb just hanging out----------

What is the definition of a gamer? Anyone who shoots faster than yourself! Here is Quickdraw with her two gamers------Biloxi Bob and Redhawk (1st and 2nd place Traditional)

One of the LT shooters up there at Topton also likes to dress up in the red and black colors just like me. Here she is, Scarlet Spade and her hubby Colonel Mortimer VanCleaf.

Our Posse was the slowest (because we were too busy goofing off and having a good time), but we had the most awards! A grand total of 13 out of 24 shooters. Dawg got 1st place Duelist, QP got 1st place LT, and DD got 1st place Buckerette. Here she is!

Omigawd, omigawd, honey, your CLOTHES!!!!!! Best! LL! Outfits! Ever!!!!! But I want a closeup of the black-and-white hat. And good grief, darlin', I can't see your new skirt if you're gonna hike it up and flash your fanny in that picture! :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
That ballgown. Oh, gracious, that ballgown. I'm good with words, but not good enough to praise that baby sufficiently.
Kelsey looks so beautiful in both her princess dresses! And she continues to be the number one representative for having fun in this sport, I swear. In every photo, she looks like she's having a dream-come-true time.
:ty for the pictures! Much! Very! :ty

LL,
:ty for sharing the wonderful photos. :bow Your and Kelsey's outfits are beautiful as usual.
(whisper mode on) What do you use to keep the thigh-high stockings up? I have some; but am afraid to wear them to shoot in. I have white mesh with little white bows up the back that I have never worn. (whisper mode off)
Regards,
Allie Mo

I use a garter belt. The stockings with the elastic tops don't work for me-----they don't stay up or they cut the circulation off in my legs!

I agree with all the rest, your outfits are awesome!!!! to say the least. I snaged them in my favorites, for inspiration!! I hope you don't mind.
I love the flipped up flaps, I forgot what they are called.
It looked like everyone was having a good time. It sure is a shame that it was so hot during the shoot.
Guess what???? I have the same lavender and white polka dot fabric as Kelsey's to make a me a VBS!!! I might get it done one of these days.
Great photos, :ty :ty :ty Thanks again. :kiss

I dunno, Em. "Little foldy-uppy things" sounds like a highly technical term to me! Descriptive, too.

LL, as I have said before, you are an inspiration to all of us. The clothes you make for your daughter, your friends, the Delaware Diamonds and yourself are awe inspiring! I don't think there is any way that anyone could be around you without having a great time! You are so far out there that you would make anyone comfortable in their own skin!!! I think you would bring out the best in me! Hugs, Duzy :faint :rofl
