Can-can fabric question

Now is the time for me to start looking for fabric to make a certain individual (who will not wear a dress when she shoots and whose alias is QP :w2 ) a can-can dress. Halloween is always a great time to find some really cool fabric. So you know me, it always starts with an idea. I got a really nice purple sequined butterfly pin. It would be great to stick in the hair with a bunch of feathers for a can-can outfit. So I am thinking stripes-------in a nice bright purple. There is a nice one over at the Fabric Club in dupioni. I did find a pretty good deal on e-bay, though, for a purple satin (I think) with gold roses. Or should I go with a harlequin pattern, or maybe just stay with a solid and decorate the hell out of it? What are your thoughts? :fb

Speaking from experience, a purple harlequin fabric makes a killer outfit.

Hi LL,

How about the stripe for the top and a matching solids for the skirt. If you are making the TV skirt, you could have several different solids for the different ruffles that match the top.

However, finding matching fabrics could be :bhd

For some reason, I don't think of flowers for a cancan outfit.
