Hi Everyone,
Arrived home Monday evening from EOT. We left from Manhattan Beach, CA on Thursday morning and arrived in Moriarity Friday afternoon. We participated as Conventioneers on Saturday and part of Sunday, then headed back home. Even in that short time period, we had a wonderful time and I was able to meet some new Alley friends. The weather was great, I don't think it reached over 90 degrees on Saturday even though there was rain and a thunderstorm in the afternoon that lasted approximately 20 minutes. Sunday was a cooler day and was quite windy.
It was such a pleasure meeting so many Alley Cats and Tom Cats. You are all wonderful and I was so happy to meet you in person. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted and some will be close to some others that you have seen.

The first picture is of the long dirt road that took you to Founder's Ranch.

Hugs and :kiss ,
Sarah Bernhardt

Check out her hat and all the detail she puts into her outfits. She even has beautiful vintage jewelry that belonged to her great grandmother. I'm sure her great grandmother would be very proud of her.

This is Bonnie. Do you remember her from the SASS Convention. In 2004 she held a wig seminar and in 2004 & 2005 shared a booth with Katie Bar the Door, selling hairpieces.

Sarah, what excellent photojournalism this is! Closeups, full-length shots, long shots of the site--almost feel as if I could find my way around. And your new ensemble is lovely; what a nice combination of fabrics.

Violet, of all your splendid walking dresses, that's got to be my favorite. Well, that and your mom's plaid one with the criss-cross ribbon trim...

Boss Lady, yummy pleated salmon trim! I like those colors together.

Clancy, your evening dress looks as if it, and you, just walked off the set of The Buccaneers. Where did you find tafetta to match your hair, for heaven's sake?

Big happy sigh. Post some more!

Em i found the floral fabric on my solo trip to the garment district last November, $2 per yard, it smelt musty like it had been packed away for ages. I had to wash it 3 times to get the old smell out of it.

When i bought the fabric it was not intended for my EOT dress, but somehow it kept telling me to use it.. When i decided to use it i had to ask dear Fleur for a favour and I sent her a sample of the floral fabric and asked her to get me some bronze and she matched that to the sample.

Only when i started pleating did i realise i didnt have enough, so i thought about using a contrast fabric that i found here, its a deeper bronze tafetta. I was also lucky enough that Fleur managed to get the remaining 6 yards of silk left that i purchased so i could finish all the pleating. There is approx 13 yards in the silk alone in that dress.

I never realised it matched my hair until i saw the photos. I actually have two bun pieces in amongst all that hair, most of it is mine, the buns were just used to add extra height.

Well, that dress is worth any amount of time spent pleating, and plenty of emergency trans-Pacific e-mails as well. Brava! :bow

SB, your natural toned 1890's outfit is gorgeous!! Which skirt pattern is that?

Sweet Violet, once again, has blown me away!

Hi Madamekat,
Thank you for the compliment, the skirt is TV297 (1898 Flared Skirt). I used the same skirt pattern this year with TV's latest jacket pattern.
