RE: Kid S 's thread of the 13th stating that 2006 has been a bad year for Alley members and friends.
Last Wednesday, a shot gun (probably kept in the barn for snakes) fell/was knocked off the wall in a barn and discharged killing a 9 year old boy who was feeding a neighbor's animals along with his older brother while the neighbors were out of town. 4 children in the family, all very bright and talented. They played a piano quartet on 2 piano at our community choir's last Christmas concert.
Saturday nite just before a storm blew thru, young man (34) died of a heart attack. Left wife and 3 children. He was the scouting supervisor for Tx for the Cin. Reds baseball organization & had grown up here. While at the scene lightning hit our ambulance requiring 2 of the EMTs to be sent to the hosp for evaluation. No serious injuries reported.
Both way too young and so very tragic for the families and the community (population here below 2000). & all occurred during the normally festive 2 weeks of an outdoor theater. Naturally it was a subdued performance Friday after the gun accident. Performance rained out Saturday after the 2nd death. Just as well. Know both families would benefit from a prayer or two or 300.
