I stopped at a sewing shop yesterday and checked out a Janome 9500, be still my heart. They are even on sale this month, hmmmm I could sell my van to buy it..... I want to make b western shirts and this machine would do it, I may even make my money back in a few months! The dang machine costs more than my horse did.

Me too.....course mine is toward the bottom end but it goes and goes...I have a Janome serger also....the place I go has only Janome (he is a vac and sew repair guy and his wife teaches sewing on the other side of the shop)

I am sewing with my mom's Janome 9000 memory craft....oh baby...it is practicaly silent! I love it...and yes it would cost a decent used car to get one. Oh well I shall enjoy while I visit!!

I may look around and see what other brands have similar features and what their prices are :re

I really want an embroidery machine.

Alli gave me a Janome to replace an old Singer I have last year as a birthday present. I think it is a fantastic machine and even when I get a bit ham handed with things, it just keeps plugging along-I saw the high end job the other day while getting some fabric-highly impressive machine. My basic machine is more than I can use still, but if it is representative of their line's quality then I am highly impressed.

the other thing I really like about my machine is, it has a control to change the speed I am sewing....if I am sewing over real thick material I can slow it down so it continues to sew without messing up.....I think he said it is a 2 speed motor or something like that....great if I am sewing something tricky also, cause I can go slow enough to keep it under control and not have to rip out.....

you mean you don't get dull seam rippers after a week now? THAT must be nice :) I gotta learn how to sharpen those things.

Yes, yes, yes--I love the two-speed motor on my Elna, and the option to stop sewing with the needle in the "down" position. Two features I can't figure out how I sewed anything without.

Now, stop talking about the whole Janome embroidery machine thing, before I break down and study over the prices on line. ("Oh, just speculatin'," I'll tell El Husband when he sees the site over my shoulder...)

Cheers,
