Hi girls

This not having a comp has been good for my sewing. But i should have it back tonight, so maybe on the weekend i can reload all my stuff and software on it.

OK this was my inspiration for the dress... Lamode Illustrie p56

The front... It took both my mum and me to iron those pleats into the fabric. It was very fiddly, because the fabric was so long.

And the side view. The pictures arent teh best. I need to take it outside and take some in the daylight.

Im still debating as to whether i should put the front sash on with the bow...similar to the picture.

Clancy,

I love it!

Long narrow pleats are way too much work for me. Great job. Thanks for posting the photos.

Oh Clancy!!!

I love all those pleats!!! That is a very pretty dress & the colors! Love the brown & pinkish peachy (what color is that anyway?). Your mum must love you a bunch to help with all of those pleats!!! Or are you just a slave driver?? :whip

Clancy, that is spectacular! I take it I'll be seeing it at the Nationals in the next couple of weeks???

I'm afraid the only new thing I have for the Nationals is the gorgeous VBS you made me!

Thanks eveyone, im pretty please with the way it turned out. Heathers TV patterns make all the difference in how they all go together. Hope to have it all completed by the weekend to start a few more things. I still have a week to go to the Nationals, have to sew something.

Lily, my mum is pretty good to me, just wished she lived closer (she is 3 hrs away) but work keeps me where i am, plus i couldnt give up my good shooting buddy in Constable Nelson.

Ruby, yup you will see it in person at the Nationals, it is for Saturday night. Looking forward to catching up with you, we will be arriving Tuesday sometime, leaving at 4.00 am, and after 11 hrs driving with the Constable....well enough said..

Clancy,
I am so impressed; what a beautiful dress. What a lot of work you put into it but so worth while, it is just stunning. Look forward to seeing a photo of you wearing your new creation.

Clancy, what a stunner that is! The skirt is exquisite. I don't know what to say about the sash and bow--I like 'em, and they way they contrast with the vertical line of the pleats. Can you baste the sash on and try it on? I mean, what if it only looks nice on someone who's six-foot-five? (Darn, now I'm trying to convert that to metric--ah, as close to two meters as makes no never mind.)

Cheers,
Coffee Em

WOW!

Clancy, that's your best work yet, even taking the soutache beauties into account. Criminy, you managed to make a tailored bow! The lines of the sash just pull the whole outfit together. I'm putting pictures of this one into my Inspiration file!

Cheers,

Sorry Nellie i forgot to answer your question about what patterns i used.

The jacket is TV 428 with a modified cuff and cutaway hem. The skirt is TV225 with panels added to the sides to get the drape and a panel of pleats to the front. The back overskirt is the back of TV 324 that has been modified to fit.

PS: i like the new signature line, i will let the Constable know he is being quoted now!

Ohhhhhhh Preeeeeetttyyyyy

I love the sash it finishes off the dress perfectly...isent it funny hoe these dresses can always handle a little bit more of this or that?

Just really lovely....you know Australia is just too far away!
