We got truck buy my brothers legs so long Mama's seat up so far, when I ride, I almost bump my nose!
Can't even imagine how the ladies drive in those dresses!!
And some of the ladies got little cars! And when Mama wear them dresses no room for me! I gotta sit in back seat, can't sit on her lap!
Ok when I have all to myself but not when I gotta share with reenagers!

Sure Mama & me not only ones wondering about this!

My MIL is a sit on top of the steering wheel cause she is only 5'1" also and she can do it!

Now the bustle is colapsable so it flattens out, corsets are another matter, if you are not used to them they can make you feel wierdly sepreate from the car.

I would love to hear how others manage this ...if nothing else I know there are some funny stories!

Ha! Driving in a corset! Not my favorite thing to do! Ya know corsets push the girls up? Well, driving pushes them up further...think chin rest! :lool

My husband usually drives when we are in costume but I am very tall and with a hat on, I sometimes have to slump. Try doing that in a corset!!:nuhnuh

Yikes--I'd forgotten that about the hats. Guess I'd better stick to low crowns and feathers that turn down!

(Oh, and Lady Dallas--sent you a PM yesterday. Did it get there?)

Cheers,

Hi Ladies,

I've been driving hubby's Jeep Wrangler. Sunday, I wore my new Princess Rita Smith top hat in it. In my car, I would have to take off my hat . Gotta love that head room!

Regards,

Allie Mo

I have renamed my "girls" they are now called Clancy and the bustoleros mind you they have shrunk significantly...28lbs and shrinking...

Always had someone else drive for me if im all done up. I actually find it harder to get out of the car will all the skirt and petticoat, usually need someone to help haul me out.

Alli Mo,
I'm with you there girl-everyone kept telling me when I wore a corset I'd have 'bustoleros' & I kept telling them 'NO WAY-Not this cowgirl' So I wore a corset and they all said 'Damn-your right girl! Ain't nothin' there to push up, by the time they reach the top of the corset they only peek out a bit!!!! HHHAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAA

So I try to do fun things with my butt-distract them to another spot!!!!

Oh my gosh, you and I are so on the same wave length. It's just that I figure if they are looking at the cleavage, they aren't looking at the butt!!! :rofl :rofl

OK, first you find the biggest shoehorn you can find.......:rofl .
Seriously, I drive a Toyota RAV now, my big deisel truck is too $$ for gas now to drive much. I enter bustle first, tuck a medium sized pillow behind my back for support, get my dress and petticoats in and arranged (oh yea the seat has to be all the way back, but I am long legged), then the seatbelt is put on (never drive without it!!). Shut the door and off we go. Hat is off, I am tall so I can't wear one in the car. Of course then I have two gates on the ranch to go through before the dirt road, but that's what husbands and kids are for!:lool Then I proceed to blind every male driver on the road with my "headlights".........:w2

Ever tried driving with a wired hoop??? I did....:rofl I laughed my A off all the way driving !!! And you should have seen the truckdrivers (they sit higher so they can look down in my car, we drive a Fiat Scudo, that is a van kinda drivingthingy, so most cars can't look up in my car).

I sit behind the wheel, all my frillies are showing, the hoop pressed and fumbled under the steeringwheel, one hand holding it in place, seatbelt attempt to hold more in place, a very stubbern look on my face, I can get there without my hoop popping in my face, I know I can do it, I know I can, I know I can........ In the mean while I look out my side window, see this truckdriver, he was in shock, I could tell by the silly expression on his face:eek:

Please, do not try this yourself, it was a once in a lifetime experience!!!:faint
