I gots me a new shotgun to start lovin'!
I am now the proud owner of an '87. What a fun little toy this is gonna be! I might be slow but I'll be slow with style.
This is gonna take alot of gettin' used to. We shoot rifles with such nice easy levers and short strokes and then along comes this shotgun with the longest throw I've ever encountered. And ya gotta work it like ya mean it or it don't work right. But it's such a cool gun to shoot!!!
I also got a new rifle. However, my Marlin will always be my favorite.

I had PMS engraved on the stock of my double. Then I had it engraved on my 97. I'd like to also put in on this shotgun. However, I have what I think is a very novel idea. If you can picture the Winchester logo...it's a large fancy W in the center of an oval with a R on the left and an A on the right....I'd like to design a "PMS" in that same fashion and have this gun engraved. I'm not sure where I would put this "logo" yet (wood or metal) but I think it would put my personal touch on the gun.
I'm gonna look around for someone with the software to design this logo for me. I know that Lasergraphic can do it but I'd like to come up with the design now so that I can have some time to look at it and decide how I want to use it. Anyone know someone that can do this kind of artwork??????

Barb, Here are two images, the first a little dark, But it shows exactly what was on the original 1887 Winchester Lever Action Shotgun. The second is the working drawings. Both these images were taken from George Madis book, "The Winchester, 1 of 1000".

PERFECT!!!!!!!!!! :kiss :kiss :kiss
I'm gonna print out this working image. If you can picture what I'm planning, I'll remove the R and the A (and that little O, too), flip it over and put a P and an S in it's place. Tadaaaaa! PMS!!!!!!!
