Do you ever play with your photos. I love my photo programs, learning what all the effects and techniques actually look like. So, let's show everyone what we do.

The night patrol pic :) kinda looks like one of those pics you see on those ghost hunter shows. You know, the ones that show up in the picture but can't be seen with the naked eye. Especially since you can't see the facial features!

Good fun Mz Kikinshoot!
I liked the 'Antiqued Bellles' best overall, but think the "One Helluva silhouette" was VERY aptly titled! ;-)
Were the first pics deliberately that dark? Or are other folks seeing them much lighter?
This link points to one that's been on my website a while:

The pic isn't actually doctored, but I think the 'wanted' poster setting kinda fits the spirit of your post. :-)

Yes, those pictures are dark. The original picture was almost nondistinguishable. That's what made it so fun to play with.

Hi Iron Ed
I had just got my new Nikon D70s (and haven't taken Black Jack classes yet) and I was shooting away like I had a point and shoot or someting standing out in the sun while the ladies were in the shade. So all of those pictures were really dark. The spahgetti western was just lightening and playing with the color, same with the vintage looking one.

Hi Nellie's Mom: I have the "Photo Suite" program, and it will do all that fun stuff too. I think the "Print Shop" soft ware has this funn stuff also. Skye

Here's a link to mine (did not want to take up space here), scroll down to the bottom of the page, one is 'before' the other is 'after''. I wanted a good photo of hubby and myself for our website and the 'before' was the best I could find.

Dog-gone Shyanne.. That's really good!
Here's one of mine that I'd forgotten about (even though it's on my own website!) :-) Unfortunately I no longer have the original scanned in.
Anyway..
I adjusted the brightness/contrast and deleted a gravel driveway about halfway up and a white concrete sidewalk under my feet. The sidewalk is the most obvious as I couldn't get the grass quite right around my boots.

Hi LL,
Love the photo of you folks with the jail!
I don't remember hearing about the Delaware Diamonds. Can you name them and tell us your story?
Regards,
Allie Mo
Lady LaSalle

Yup! They are Lady LaSalle, Delaware's Delight, Quickdraw Pinkerton, Wyoming School Marm, South Paw Sadie, Santa Fe Sue, Hazel Pepper, and Sweet Tart. Haven't quite worked up our "story" as yet, but in real life we all met as a result of CAS and have become quick and fast friends. The 3 original Diamonds are Quickdraw Pinkerton, Santa Fe Sue, and myself. Then we were joined by Wyoming School Marm, Hazel Pepper, and Sweet Tart. We added South Paw Sadie and my own Delaware's Delight this year. We basically are the "fashion police" that keep things interesting at PIP! :ruff

Especially the one behind bars! Any idea how that effect was achieved??Iron Ed, if you're referring to the darker outlines around the people in the photo, it's a special effects setting within some photo editing software. I think it may be called "comic book" in one of the programs.

Photoshop, mode Grayscale & back to mode RGB, photo filter Sepia and filter Dust & Scratches, filter Film Grain. Use the Exposure filter for adjusting the photo.
Et voila:
