Fannie Kikinshoot SASS #33693

Fannie Kikinshoot is also known as Malinda Butson. Fannie had never shot a gun until she met her husband, Bulls Head Bill. Bulls Head was determined that Fannie would be able to defend herself and thus began teaching her to shoot a handgun. She enjoyed the shooting so much that Bulls Head then took Fannie to the range and put an AR-15 in her hand. She was a natural, so Bulls Head would compliment. One Saturday, after Bulls Head had been at the range without Fannie, he came home and began talking about Cowboy Action Shooters. He had gotten to the range early and there was a CAS match on one of the ranges. He watched, shot some of the guns and was overwhelmed by the friendly attitude of the cowboys. It seemed that there would be a match in Charlotte, NC the following day. So, Bulls Head and Fannie headed to Charlotte. After watching the match, Bulls Head turned to Fannie and said, "What do you think?" Her response was, "I can shoot AND dress up, this is too cool!" They were hooked. Bulls Head Bill, SASS #33692 and Fannie Kikinshoot, SASS #33693 joined SASS in August 2000.

Bulls Head Bill and Fannie Kikinshoot joined their first and home club Gunpowder Creek Regulators. After Fannie had been shooting for a couple of months someone gave her a video of End of Trail 2000. Fannie watched this video over and over and just fell in love with the way the cowgirls were dressed in the video. The Victorian dresses were fabulous. So, Fannie decided that she needed a dress for her upcoming "First Big Match" at Mule Camp. She began her search. Shocked at the prices of the dresses she knew that if she were going to have a Victorian ballgown she would have to make it. There was just one problem, well two problems. Fannie didn’t have a sewing machine and she didn’t know how to sew!!! Bulls Head gave Fannie a sewing machine for Christmas and she ordered her first patterns. Fannie’s first ballgown pattern was a nightmare. It arrived 6 weeks late, which was only 5 days before they left for Mule Camp. Then when she opened the pattern, there were no directions!! Fannie was devastated but determined. With the help of 2 friends they made the ballgown in time for Fannie to head to Mule Camp. While riding to Atlanta Fannie hand-stitched the lace trim to her gown. It was well worth it, everyone just loved the dress. And, that dress is what brought Tornado Alli and Fannie together.

Fannie and Bulls Head have a daughter that loves to shoot and sew also. She is known as Aneeda Bullseye, SASS # 41909. Aneeda Bullseye is a senior at Gaither High School and the Junior Lady Florida State Champion at The Last Stand 2003. The family’s past time is spent at SASS matches. Fannie was the Gunpowder Creek Lady Champion 2001 and 2002. She won "Ms. Big Hat" at Mule Camp 2002, Best Dressed Lady at Suquehanna Roundup 2002 and 4th place Best Dressed Lady at the SASS Convention 2002. Fannie loves to shoot but loves to sew and dress up even more.

The Carolina Belles have become Fannie’s second family. She now has three more sisters and loves to spend as much time with them as possible. She and her family travel with The Belles and their families to matches all over the country. The Belles plan their vacations with each other around SASS matches. Being a Belle has brought Fannie the closest friendships she has ever experienced in her life. Fannie Kikinshoot is a Carolina Belle forever.
